UAV SECOND ANTI-POACHING TRIAL LAUNCHED IN SELOUS GAME RESERVE

based Bathawk Recon, a  UAV Anti Poaching surveillance company  has launched its second trial in the Selous  Game Reserve using a French made Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.
The main participants  in the initiative are  MANTRA Tanzania ,Tanzania  National Parks  and the Tanzania Civil aviation Authority.

According to a Press statement  by Bathawk Recon the trials began on  January 5  this year  where the French made DT 26 was tested for sound or audibility level during an operation whereby it was tested on different heights starting from 150 meters to 500 meters.

It was also tested to see if it can carry out its missions in the harsh environments of Tanzania and Africa at large .
A visual test was also conducted to see if the DT 26 could see and detect humans, vehicles and even camp fires.
The DT 26 launched three flight operations, two during the day and one during the night where it spotted  vehicle  and humans.

 This trial was witnessed by  captain Kintu Newa TCAA’s senior flight  operations inspector;  Onesmo Agustine from the TPSF ; major Elgious Xavery Mwanisawa of  Tanzania Peoples Defense Forces headquarters- as project officer;  Joseph France, a park warden protection officer for TANAPA
